Archive for Autumn

I keep forgetting I thought up another holiday for my story. Instead of having individual Birthdays, families celebrate everyone being a year older at one time, and it's sort of Christmass-y, too, since it lands on the winter months every two years. I figure it should last a whole week. Now I don't have to think up when everyone's birthdays are or when Katie's would be, especially when it would be confusing when the other planet's year has fourteen months.

I'm trying to finish the painting I started, and it's getting there. I'm excited for the little paintings - it will be nice to paint people for a change, not just scenery. Although, it is just their faces.

I should get back to painting, or maybe writing - and I said I'd make coffee for my dad. Bye :)

Birthday Stuff

Let's see. So my day started with me finding a gift from Dad. Socks, with money inside! Then Emma gave me one. Socks! Then later, I find another package waiting by the sink before lunch. From Sarah, a pair of socks.

Lunchtime arrives. You see, I was about to post in the blog but I had to go open presents. I got  mini Harry Potter posters to color and paintbrushes from Emma, Werther's Original, Reese's Pieces, an invisible ink pen and a book (an It Girl novel) from Sarah. Mom and Dad gave me a nice set of paints. But oh no, the surprises don't end there.

At Supper time, Dad gives me more presents. A really nice big hazelnut chocolate bar, some more of my favorite tea, pens, another notebook and I think I may be forgetting something ... then we go shopping for Halloween candy on sale, and I bought three little canvases for paintings I have in mind. I'm excited to do those but I want to finish the sunset one and another I started a few days ago before I start more. Thank you everybody!

Do thine eyes decieve me?

Sarah is sitting next to me chanting, 'candy candy candy candy candy candy!' while I ponder one of the greatest mysteries that happened today. I was anxious, only minutes ago, for a parcel that was said to be waiting for us. Was it for me? Could it be an early Birthday present? I waited for my mom to come back with it. When she finally did, I looked at the address. For me? Yes!

I opened it. It was a pretty big box. I unwrapped the first gift inside. A notebook! Then the next. My favorite tea! Another, chocolate, and mechanical pencils (and a lot there was), and socks ...

There, at the bottom, was the last present. Had Christmas come early and nobody notified me? Was it really snowing outside at that moment? Where was everyone else's presents, the decorations? How come it was Halloween at the same time? The last gift was the greatest, most beautiful one of all. A mp3/CD Walkman! Just what I asked for!

I knew only two people who would spoil me so. Thank you, Kaytlyn and Addison! Best Birthday ever!

One!

Happy Halloween! I just started my costume, which will be an M&M made out of cardboard. The paint is drying right now on one side and then I have to paint the 'M' on the other piece. It's looking pretty good to me, and the 'M's are silver, so they're reflective. We couldn't find any white, either.

Today is also my brothers' birthday. Happy birthday Addison! Yesterday is snowed, but it didn't really last - it was only a few centimeters. Emma and I went outside and walked around in it, which was fun.

No real story progress, though I did write a full page of the story. I'm just waiting for a day where I feel like writing a lot.

Yesterday I started and completed a puzzle which I hadn't done before. Maybe I'll start another today, or maybe I'll take a break. It's going to be fun tonight, though, just because we're in a new neighborhood this year. And because I'm going as an M&M, which is awesome. And I get candy on my birthday.
